Inspired by the work of Thomas Demand and an old Land of the Giants Annual, I have re-imagined some scenes from a parochial church hall.

So many of these places were built as extensions in the 50s and 60s and have exactly the same entirely functional non-style; beige curtains, neat stacks of plastic chairs, maps on the walls describing in which order these stacks must go.

At the hall on which these models are based, in the North-West of England, several very different groups meet: a belly dancing class, a clarinet choir, regular storytelling evenings, Baby Sign ‘n’ Sign, kids holiday clubs, the Ladie’s Speakers Club, the Astronomical society.
